This is an autonomous remote position requiring reliable alignment with core US business hours:

You will operate as the primary technical guardian of our digital storefront, reporting directly to the Head of E-commerce. You will collaborate daily with our Media Buyer, SEO Specialist, and UI Designers, translating commercial initiatives and marketing sprints into clean, robust codebase implementations while maintaining complete autonomy over code deployments, database hygiene, and server configurations.
Core Responsibilities
Rather than merely installing third-party plugins or editing basic visual templates, you will approach site development as a disciplined software engineering and revenue-optimization practice across several critical technical domains:
Storefront Performance Engineering & Core Web Vitals
You will maintain relentless focus on site speed, mobile responsiveness, and page weight optimization across our entire storefront. You will continually audit and optimize Google Core Web Vitals metrics—specifically Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Interaction to Next Paint (INP), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)—on high-traffic product pages and promotional landers. You will implement advanced caching architectures, database query profiling, script deferrals, critical CSS generation, and CDN asset delivery (Cloudflare Enterprise/Edge workers) to guarantee sub-second page loads across North American networks.
Custom WooCommerce Architecture & Conversion Optimization
You will engineer lean, bespoke functionality directly into our WooCommerce framework, eliminating bloated plugin dependencies wherever custom code provides a faster, cleaner solution. Proven WooCommerce Development Experience
Candidates must possess at least 4 years of hands-on WordPress and WooCommerce development experience, specifically supporting direct-to-consumer e-commerce storefronts targeting North American consumers. You must be able to demonstrate a digital portfolio of live, high-traffic commercial websites where you contributed custom theme templates, custom checkout modifications, and complex hooks/filter integrations without relying excessively on off-the-shelf page builders.
Technical Stack & Coding Mastery
